“Save the Date” by Morgan Matson

4 stars

Save the Date is a humorous and heartwarming story about a family on the verge of change. Seventeen-year-old Charlie is heartbroken that her parents are selling her childhood home. The youngest of five, Charlie is famous — along with the rest of her family — due to her mother’s popular comic strip series that has chronicled their lives. The strip is about to come to an end, though, and one of Charlie’s sister is about to be married. Despite all these changes, Charlie is determined to make her sister’s wedding at their family home perfect. However, fate has other things in mind and one thing after another goes wrong. As Charlie tries to fix everything before time runs out, readers will laugh at the high jinx she is faced with, while also rooting for her to succeed.
