“Safekeeping” by Jessamyn Hope

5 stars

The centerpiece of Safekeeping is an exquisite 14th century brooch, and its ultimatesurvival in the hands of a Jewish alcoholic and drug addict, Adam. Its history takes Adam to a Kibbutz in Israel. The story flows through time and history — visiting upon the Holocaust, Israel’s founding, Canadian orphans, Chernobyl, and much more. The has humor, suspense, well-drawn characters, and storylines that eventually connect. A well-written, satisfying reading experience.
