“The Whole Art of Detection” by Lindsay Faye

5 stars

If you, like me, are missing the BBC Sherlock series, you will thoroughly enjoy Lindsay Faye’s The Whole Art of Detection. Or perhaps you are a die-hard traditionalist who will only read Arthur Conan Doyle. Well, rejoice, because Faye has an uncanny ability to write in Arthur Conan Doyle’s voice, stay true to the characters, and make the reader feel you’ve traveled back an entire century. Comprising 15 short stories, the book is an enjoyable read for anyone who appreciates the famous criminologist and his brave friend (and biographer) Dr. Watson.
