Volunteer Opportunities

Students entering grades 7-12 at Woodmere Middle School or Hewlett High School can volunteer in the Children’s Room.

Call the Children’s Room at 516-374-1967 ext. 402 to register for hours.
Adults looking to volunteer should join and contact with the Friends of the Library who volunteer at the library during programs, events and other occasions.

Study Rooms

Single and group study rooms are available to members with a Hewlett-Woodmere Library card.  Additionally we have two rooms for use by non-residents.  Rooms are on a first come, first serve basis and may not be reserved.  There is no eating or drinking in our study rooms.

Computers, Wifi, and Printing

HWPL has wireless internet all throughout our building.  Come in, and connect to our HW Library Wifi and you’re all set!

If you don’t have your own device, HWPL has computers for district residents and non-residents available for use up until 15 minutes before we close.  Printing is available at these terminals as well.  If you have any questions call the Reference Desk, 516-374-1967 ext. 401.

Computer Classes

Using the HWPL Digital Library is a recurring lecture presented by the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library’s Digital Services Librarian.

These classes will explain how to best use this website, the online catalog, research databases, and online services such as Overdrive and Zinio.
